Tadej Pogačar was born on September 21, 1998, in Komenda, Slovenia. Growing up in the picturesque Slovenian countryside, young Tadej was naturally drawn to cycling. His father, Mirko, was an amateur cyclist who introduced him to the sport at the age of 8.

By age 15, Pogačar was already showing exceptional talent, winning junior races across Slovenia. His natural climbing ability and tactical intelligence set him apart from his peers, earning him a spot in the Slovenian national junior team.

Tadej is in a long-term relationship with Urška Žigart, also a professional cyclist. The couple shares a passion for cycling and often trains together. Pogačar is known for his humble personality and strong family values.

Pogačar turned professional in 2019 with UAE Team Emirates. His breakthrough came immediately, winning the Tour of California and showing he could compete with the world's best riders.
